What do I learn in class?
Newborn & Postpartum Care is a 6 hour course that includes hands on demonstration of: Swaddling, diapering, soothing, breast and bottle feeding, SIDS safety, basic CPR, identifying postpartum depression, mother care and more.
Baby Basics Classes include everything expecting parents need to get ready for baby from the comfort of home. There's no limit on the amount of attendees; grandparents, babysitters and others are welcome.
Sleep Training Classes include infant sleep schedules and a step-by-step plan to help parents allow their baby to sleep through the night.
What kind of job can I get as a Licensed Newborn Care Provider (NCP)?
Your expertise in babies will allow you to work at any of the following:
home health care agency
overnight newborn caregiver
How is this different from "Newborn Care Specialist" or Postpartum Doula classes I've seen?
The Newborn Care Certificate program is a stacked credential for Certified Nursing Assistants. This means that students successfully completing this program are licensed by the State of Virginia and accountable to the Board of Nursing in Virginia.
